My teaching philosophy starts with the importance of relationships and building community.  Building trust with each student is vital to the success of their learning.  I aim to connect learning about art process to what students expect to experience when they move beyond their secondary education.  Creating an inclusive environment that caters to cross-cultural learning is just one way I plan on encouraging my students to explore their personal history.  When a student is proud of who they are they can create projects that express their individuality.  The environment of my classroom will be safe and nurturing.  As an educator it is my responsibility to communicate to my students that I care about their well being.
